Mr Maluka is currently practicing law in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. With an LLB. From the Punjab university, Lahore, Zulfikar Khalid Maluka is the senior practicing Attorney with extensive practice in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.


The Lahore High Court, Peshawar High Court and the Federal Shariat Court since 1992 At present, he is a member of the District Bar Association, Islamabad, and member of the High Court Bar Association, Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court. He contested the 2008-09 election to the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan and was elected Additional Secretary-SCBA for the year 2009.In addition to the above he also has a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, where he taught international law and politics for about three years in the 1980s. He has attended courses in international law and politics at the Australian National University, Canberra and the Institute of International Studies, Geneva University.Last but not the least is the author of three well known books on International Relations; The Myth of Constitutionalism in Pakistan (Oxford University Press, 1995); Pakistan in the Pamir Knot-Geostrategic Imperatives (Vanguard Books, 1985) & Pakistan–China Security Relations (Progressive Publishers, 1987). He has also authored almost 45 papers on international law and regional politics, which have been published in nine different countries of the World. Recently he has contributed a Chapter namely. “Restructuring the Constitution for a COAS President: Pakistan, 1999-2002” in the book: Pakistan on the Brink: Politics, Economics, and Society (Oxford University Press, 2004), edited by Craig Baxter).
